Our New Baby

We have an addition to our family. Her name is Lady Magdalene (for AKC},we will call
her Maggie. She is a Cavalier King Charles Spanniel. Maggie is 9 weeks old. I love this breed. They get their name from being the dogs of choice for English royalty. They are basically lap dogs. Very lovable and mellow Maggie will do well with our family. She comes from a champion mother and father, so her papers are very impressive.

"WHEELS" Remembering a Great Band and Musician

I came accross some videotape as I was getting rid of some of my old videos of one of my best friend and his band. If you were around the bar scene in Kansas City during the 80's you probably saw the band "Wheels" at Harry Starkers or Plaza III on the plaza. Made up of the late Brad Millison(guitar and lead vocals), Jimmy Harlow (keyboard and lead vocals), Bob Blount (Bass and another long time friend. Who actually started out as a drummer and was incredible), Brothers Mark Sidener (drums) and Bruce Sidener (lead guitar)

The band did a televidion taping for a show on KCPT, Kansas City's public television station. Here are a few clips from that show. I think you will be amazed how good this band was. "Wheels" was a dream band come true of excellent musicians and better yet, class people. I will always miss my best friend Brad Millison, but his music and the band "Wheels" keeps rolling on.

Christmas Wishes

Every Christmas Eve since the 1970's I have gazed out into the sky and made a christmas wish. This Christmas Eve 2007 was unlike any other. I always look for the brightest star and start out my wish with that famous poem "Starlight...Starbright..... Mars was the brightest I have ever seen. Mars was also "twinkling" incredibly.

Here is a picture that was taken on Christmas Eve from Monument Valley, USA which includes a picturesque foreground of famous buttes. Buttes are composed of hard rock left behind after water eroded away the surrounding soft rock. The two buttes on the image left are known as the Mittens, while Merrick Butte is on the right. Recorded just last week, planet Mars is at the left of the skyscape, a glowing beacon of orange that is the brightest object in the frame. To the right of Mars lies the constellation of Orion. Betelgeuse is the reddish star near the center and the Belt of Orion and the Orion Nebula are farther right. Finally, the bright blue star Rigel appears above Merrick Butte in this stunning view of The World At Night.

My wishes are always personal, but I hope this one will come true in 2008. I hope your wishes come true this following new year.

Christmas 2007
