During the 90's when I got my first keyboard I started sequencing ideas and recording them. Many were just short ideas and grooves. Later as my studio grew with new equipment and samples I started doing more with it. At the time I was into the club/Techno scene and loved creating grooves. Many of the short ideas I created were used to jam or solo over. Unfortunately many of the ideas weren't developed further into full songs. The electronica pieces are the only ones that are longer and have different sections. I sequenced many of the pieces in Digital Performer and recorded them onto tape or disc. All the ideas and pieces were performed by me using the following gear:
Kurzweil K2000 Keyboard
Ensoniq ASR-10 Sampling Keyboard
DrumKat Midi Controller
Emu Proteus 1
Emu Proteus 2
Emu Proteus Procussion
Emu Orbit
Korg Wasestation SR
Here is Pilbo Tramtunts. Based on a rhythmic modulation pattern using chords.
ELectronica No. 1 My first electronica song I created using a K2000,ASR-10, Emu Proteus 1,2, and 3 along with Emu Orbit, Korg Wavestation SR and DrumKat Midi Controller. Electronica No. 2: My second song
Electronica No. 3: Another electronica piece
Idea 38: Kind of a funky loop with brass and sax samples. I used this to jam over.
Day In The Life: This a cover of the famouse Beatles song I did for Sprint and their video production dept. David Kemmerly provided guitar and outstanding vocals. I arranged and played everything else.
Groove No. 2: Playing around one night with a groove and came up with this.
Groove No. 3: Another night, another idea. More like bed music to go under something.
Drive: The of the few songs that I came up with a name for. It's a groove that reminded me of a Porsche speeding along a winding road.
Gonna Get Some: Dirty little bump and grind. I was always amazed going to the clubs how many people would get on the dance floor with music that sounded like it came from a porno film. Thought I would try a hand at it.
Cloud Surfing: Kind of a new age groove piece. After listening to it came up with a name. Inspired by Andreas Vollenweider on this one.
