In The Studio

We have to think ahead so our band the Woods Chapel Jazz Band has gone into the studio to record a christmas cd for next year. It's been a blast to do the things I've always loved to do. Bill Crain and his BRC Audio studio was a great choice since Bill has extensive experience recording big bands. Our first session lasted over six hours. needless to say I was spent at the end of our session. Here is some pics from our recording session. Stay tuned for the actual release.

House set I used, Pearl Masters Custom Series, what a great sound!!!

Our setup, The drums and piano were in separate rooms with the brass and saxes in the big room with isolation shields:

Getting the sound just right!

I'm blessed to play with some great people and great musicans. I'm finally getting to play the music I've always to play after going to schoool at Berklee College of Music. It's amazing that it only took me 25 years after I quit playing to rediscover my passion. Thanks everyone for my dream come true!!

The Christmas Snow of 2009-2010

WOW! what a winter we have had so far. I really loved having a white christmas, but I'm ready to move on. It has been fun watching our backyard landscape change with the snow. Check out some of these pictures of the snow and my back wall red floodlights. They look like little lava pits. The dogs have sure enjoyed it. The lights gets officially turned off today. That makes me sad. The lights and decorations make our home so comfy. Christmas Eve night was so special for me having Mom stay with us. I stayed up after everyone went to bed, christmas music playing, a fire roaring, tree's a glowing with fine french cognac in hand, watching the snowfall. I know my dad was with me in spirit, he loved this time of year. So here are the pictures:
