When Your Love Is True

My best friend of the whold world is Dave Kemmerly. We went to high school together, played music together and just lived our lives together. He was the best man at my wedding. He wrote a song about Linda and I and performed it at the reception. The song refers to a bet he and I made in high school about who would get married the first. Whoever married first would pay the other $100.00. Needless to say I lost. I happily presented Dave a crisp hundred dollar bill at the reception. He then went on to sing this song he wrote. It's beautiful and makes me cry everytime I hear it. I love you my brother for being a great friend and writing this song for Linda and I. Here is "When Your Love Is True"

Little Drummer Boy

Here is a clip from our WCC Jazz Band Christmas Concert and Woods Chapel United Methodist Church in Lee's Summit. This is agreat arrangement by "Denver and the Mile High Orchestra" Clay Withers is singing lead with the Gospel Choir under the direction of Kris Bartman. Your's truly gets to stretch out on this one. It's funny I have a drum solo in it and I normally don't like solos because I get too nervous. This one I made up my mind that I would do something special for my son Jonathan and told him afterwards that the solo was dedicated to him. The solo is completely adlib and it wasn't till I saw the video that I even remembered what I played. I told the band before hand that I would do an extended solo and how I would bring the band back in. Once I started I got into it and I think the band was thinking, "Is he ever going to quit"? It was alot of fun. And here it is Jonathan, YOUR DADS DRUM SOLO DEDICATED TO YOU!!!

Greensleeves

Here is a behind the scenes of the making of our first christmas cd with the WCC Jazz Band. The audio is only a scratch mix meaning that it has not been finally mixed, edited or mastered. The song is "Greensleeves" Enjoy!!

Why I do This?

Someone asked me why I do this blog. First it's fun. I kind of think of it as a scrap book of my life. It's not meant to be a self centered ego trip, but more of a history document. When my dad died he left us with alot of his artwork and drawings as an architect. I thought how cool to always have something to remember him by. I'm not planning on dying anytime soon but I want to have some of my art and some of my memories to be here for anyone who wants to see. It's kind of a one stop shop of my life.
